Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital

Location: Oakville, ON
Year Completed: 2017
Client: Infrastructure Ontario
Construction Manager: EllisDon
Architects: Adamson Associates

The New Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital opened in 2015 and is a 1.6 million-square-foot facility with 457 patient beds. It includes complex continuing care, rehabilitation, renal dialysis, acute inpatient care, maternal child care, inpatient and outpatient adult, child and adolescent mental health, and secondary and tertiary level programs. Our team worked in a design assist capacity. The project achieved LEED® Gold certification for sustainable construction practices such as using recycled and locally sourced products, minimizing solar heat gain by installing reflective roofing, and double-glazed windows. Having large expanses of windows enhances daytime lighting and promotes therapeutic properties.
