We are happy to hear that building NX at Humber College achieved Zero Carbon Building – Design certification by the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC). The building has undergone a complete envelope retrofit that is extremely insulated and airtight, and includes new triple-pane windows; additionally, further energy upgrades were done on the heating/cooling and lighting systems. The college was able to achieve a design that will see use 70 per cent less energy than before, making it Humber’s most energy-efficient building. It has been a great opportunity to be part of the team on this passive house project and we look forward to working on more deep energy retrofits like this in future. Find out more here.
