The Gordie Howe International Bridge project will connect Canada and the USA by way of a cable-stayed bridge spanning from Windsor, Ontario to Detroit, Michigan. When complete, the bridge will be approximately 2.5 kilometers, or 1.5 miles, long, making it one of the top five longest bridges in North America. The bridge is being constructed through the collaboration of dozens of partners, including EFI, which is responsible for the project’s facade.
The facade will be a mix of curtain wall and punch windows and will incorporate innovative large format wall panels with six inches of insulation to achieve high thermal resistance. Our pioneering quality assurance controls will allow our pre-fabricated panels to meet the highest quality standards, without sacrificing performance.
When construction concludes, traffic will flow through six lanes, three Canada-bound and three US-bound. A multi-use path will also offer accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.
Products Used:
Integrating our proven curtain wall technology with our next-generation ENNVELOP wall system for high-performance, high-value building envelopes. Bringing simplicity and flexibility to the exterior façade.
