This 96,000 sq. ft. building opened in the fall of 2018 and was designed to suit the fields of health, energy, and technology. The facility includes innovative labs, workshops, lecture theatres, industry training centres, and showcases. The Canada Green Building Council selected JCPI as part of a national pilot project to demonstrate its net-zero energy carbon standard. Features also include a rooftop photovoltaic that produces carbon free energy to power the building, a high-performance building envelope that consists of triple-pane glazing, and insulated pre-cast sandwich panels that help to minimize thermal energy demand and maximize heating, cooling, and natural light. Our team worked in a design assist capacity on this project.
